Apt Mplayer?

Why am I unable to APT-GET Mplayer? Am I missing a special source repo for Mplayer or something to that nature? I have only the debian.us Etch sources and can't find Mplayer...

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi

This one seems to have most of the multi-mdeia stuff, including mplayer:

ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ etch main

Hope this helps

Bob

Those are the old entries.
It's now:

Quote:
For etch (testing) amd64, i386 and sparc packages

Add in your /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org etch main
or
deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org testing main
http://debian.video.free.fr

Those old ones might still work, but they don't get updated anymore.

You might want to take a look at the thread I started a while back about posting your sources.list.

The one I use is in my signature, it covers pretty much everything.

Nice list.
As for MPlayer/video related stuff, I really like this one as well:

######Tovid-Tovid/GUI#######
#deb http://packages.kirya.net/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://packages.kirya.net/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
#deb http://packages.kirya.net/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://packages.kirya.net/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free

PS: Just added it in your sources.list topic as well.

Also I have heard of the Debian Unofficial repository. Do you guys know if this is a reputable repository and how it compares to, for example, debian-multimedia.org?

To jens,

Thank you for the information...I have updated my list accordingly. However, the gpg keys imported from the site donīt seem to work. As instructed on the site I did this:

Quote:
gpg --keyserver hkp://wwwkeys.eu.pgp.net --recv-keys 1F41B907
I am still getting gpg errors with apt-get update.

Any thoughts?

Bob

Thanks to both farslayer and jens......these entries sorted it out immediately. No more problem.

As always, many thanks,
