apt-file returns nothing; 'bad file descriptor'


i'm trying to use 'apt-file -v search vim' (i just apt-got vim) but it returns nothing, and complains about a 'Bad file descriptor'...anybody know what's going on? (tried it with sudo too)

I'm on unstable, just installed apt-file and here's my output:

So I'm getting it too. Have you checked bugs.debian.org yet? Are you using stable|testing|unstable? Please include that in your posts...That way someone can zero in on your issue much quicker...

hi, i found out the problem....i had to run 'apt-file update' first. duh!!!!
