Apache2 boot error

Hi, here's the thing. I am running apache 1.3. This is my home pc, and I don't run a web server, I just use it to test php and html before ftp-ing to my web host.

So, Apache 1.3 loads fine and works, then I see a message that Apache2 is trying to load, then it failes..

I don't even have it installed!

apt-get --purge remove apache2 gives me the message that apache2 is not installed.

I really don't need it installed. I'm happy with apache 1.3. Like I said, I don't really use it anyway.

Anyone ever see anyting like this before? Almost like a script somewhere is trying to run apache 2 even though it isn't installed..

Jim

Look in /etc/init.d and see if there is an apache2 script and/or look for apache2 in the /etc/rc#.d directories (where # is 0-6 and the letter S for the shutdown scripts).
