Apache SSL problem

I just installed Apache SSL and when I try to go to a https page, it pops up the little certificate thing asking if you want to accept it. But there are a few problems I am having.

1. When the thing pops up asking if you want to accept the certificate, it says it signed by Unknown Authority, how do I get rid of that?

2. After accepting the certificate it says that the document contains no data, what's wrong? Is there soemthing in the config file or something I need to change?

I did not first uninstall apache before installing apache SSL, could that cause any problems?

Thank You in advance for your help.

I can answer the first question:

You've created a self-signed certificate, you need to certify with a CA before apps will trust your content without user approval. This will cost an amount of money, you probably don want to spend.
