Any idea why this time I can not ping my LAN pc but can PING for ex. www.yahoo.com
Hi, all
having problemafter install guarddog on my debian machine. after Ininstall guarddog, can get to internet, but unable toping my xp machine.any idea??

you have to open some ports to do file sharing.

sorry, doesn't make sense, you should still be able to ping. I can't say then, and can't delete my post...

Could be a number of reasons. Are both the debian and xp machine on the same network? (i.e. Is this a private network or what?)
If you're using a router/NAT device, is there a setting to allow communication between the clients?
Is the XP machine's firewall blocking ICMP echo ping requests?

both linux, xp on same network, no blocking on xp,as I said after I install guarddog it block me, not sure what needs to be enable in guraddog
