amd64 - what architecture do i need to download?
 
i have an amd64 (3200). which architecture do i need to download (alpha, arm, hppa, i386, ia64, m68k, etc..)? sorry for the stupid question, i'm just a little confused. thanks!

amd64 is still beta for Debian, but it can be installed and seems quite stable. See this article: http://lwn.net/Articles/113527/

would you recommend getting it now, or going with i386 and waiting until amd64 becomes more stable?

I recommend it,
it is the most stable and fast distro for AMD64.
