Advice some "NEW" how-to or faq about truetype fonts in Debian X environment!

I have found a lot of out of date information about fonts in debian but concerning the fact that there are serious improvements taking place in new releases. I would like to setup my new system according to not out of date directions !

This tutorial was quite easy and helpful, but what should I do if I want to add some extra non packaged true type fonts from my windows partition ?
