ACPI and asus laptop....

I've got an asus m6800 series laptop with his strange acpi bios that in linux can't display the battery charge, like we all know.
I've already read some how to about this problem but really i don't know the exactly solution. I saw, for example, a method with the acpi patch to the vanilla kernel(2.6.x series) but i can't find the fileds in the kernel's config that permits me to load an external dsdt for my asus laptop.
i use a vanilla ac2 kernel and i know that the alan cox patch already include the acpi patch.

no, you didn't understand. I don't have any problem with acpi in general, infact i already have the acpid and my machine power off perfectly. The only acpi problem is that the battery status isn't reported...instead i have a lot of error when i try to get the battery status. And this problem is general to most of the asus laptop with their buggy and proprietary bios tables. So you have to load the correct dsdt(bios) table but i don't know how to do it exactly with kernel 2.6.x.
