acessing hard drives

I have a pc that has a fresh install of Debian. There are 2 internal hard drives that are formatted NFTS. I see that the drives are detected at boot-up, but I can't access them for anything. "not found in fstab" is the error message when I try to mount one of them. I'm sure it is something simple that I just don't know...

Anyone??

You could Google that message or "ntfs fstab" Google's your friend!

how are you trying ot mount them? are you using "mount -t ntfs /dev/drive /mountpoint" Where drive is the drive letter assigned to the drive on boot and mountpoint would be the location that you would like to mount the drive to.

You can add a line for each ntfs drive in /etc/fstab. Mine looks like this:
/dev/sda1 /windows/C ntfs uid=jschiwal,gid=jschiwal,ro,defaults,umask=0002,utf8=true 0 0

Using uid= and gid= options is something that I do by habit. It gives me the ownership of the ntfs or vfat mounted partition.
