800x600
Hey,
I finally got the grub thing to work. I had to change a value in my BIOS from "Large" to "Auto", but I forget what it was. Anyways, i ran into a little problem. My screen resolution is 800x600, which i can't stand. I have a Samsung SyncMaster 763MB, and an Nvidia GeForce 4 FX5500 256MB. Is there any possible way that I can change my screen resolution because this is really bugging me? I'm using Kernel 2.4, and don't know how to update it. I'm also using the newest version of Debian, which i believe is serge. |
Look in /etc/xorg.conf (or /etc/XFree86 - i'm not sure that Debian has changed to Xorg yet) and change the resolution entry in there.

Try (as root) dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
You will be presented with all kind of questions about your display, including resolution(S). |
