5.1+7.1 sound in sarge
 

hi i got a set of speakers that support 5.1 and 7.1. my sound card supports the 5.1, it is the onboard card of Asus A7V600-X. could someone tell me how to make it work for my system? i am running sarge .

Well the general idea is you plug the speakers into the proper outputs for the sound card then try running speaker-test (look at man speaker-test for the options) to see if the sound gets outputed properly if not try playing around with the settings in the alsamixer.
