32bit(i386) or 64bit(amd64) on an amd 64bit cpu (amd 6000+)?

lol i know the question sounds kinda stupid, i mean naturally amd 64bit cpu should go with amd64. but thats only naming as i see it, since ive read on various forums that the 64bit version (much like any other 64bit version operating systems) have many compatibility issues, like java, flash, etc etc.
so, what is your opinion? im an avid youtuber, so installing adobe flash is CRUCIAL, and so far, on amd64 debian i have been unsuccessful to say the least. im hoping the 32bit version might fare better. can i install the "flashplugin-nonfree" on the i386 version of debian?
thanks yall!

yes. go with 32 bit.

No. 64-bit is better now.

I think that about clears it up…

I thought there was a megathread for this question.

OP wants Java and Flash and to work easily. 32-bit.

flash works on 64 bit just fine. use nspluginwrapper

I would say 32 bit for workstation/desktop machine until no wrappers are needed to make things work properly..

64 bit for Servers, no question about it..

But you will receive many many opinions on this topic as already evidenced by the responses.

Might as well ask emacs vs. vi or KDE vs. gnome or what the best distro is... :p

Only you can decide, which is the best route to go, for YOU...

"aptitude install flashplugin-nonfree" automatically includes nspluginwrapper

For Java browser-plugins, you have to use Konqueror, instead of Mozilla based browsers.

In Debian, 64-bit development tends to run ahead of 32-bit. All things considered, 64-bit takes a slight lead, which will only increase. 64-bit is the future.
