Unhappy 2.6.5 and HDA (CDRom) Problem

Hi All. Just install Debian Woody on my Dell Inspiron 5150 and compiled a 2.6.5 kernel straight away. Boots fine with the original 2.4.x kernel, but when I boot with the 2.6.5 kernel, it dies when trying to read the partition table from HDA. I am no where an expert at this, but I believe its dieing because HDA is my CDRom drive and of course has not partions on it. Is there a setting i missed in the kernel config that can rectify this situation.

If you need any further information, just give us an idea what you need and I will supply.

Thanks heaps in advance, and sorry if this has been resolved b4 but I can't find anything.
