[help] scim - gnome

Hi,

I have installed scim along with
language-specific tables as well as
input method engines.

Also, I have reconfigured locale
settings.

But, there is no scim input method
switcher on the panel at all.

LEFT SHIFT + SPACE does not bring
up the input method at all.

I am running gnome for the desktop.

What can I do?

By the way, my debian is etch.

Thanks.
