I have the module, in fact I have the expected output from iwconfg

wlan0 IEEE 802.11abg ESSIDff/any

blah, I need to configure. Strange since I have

iface wlan0 inet dhcp

at my interfaces config file.

Please, some hint ?

Am I the only one who could not understand your real problem?
All I can assume from your words is that you have some wifi card with intel's 3945 chipset (supported either by iwl3945 or iwlagn)... and that you do not have the firmware files installed... and that the other forum lists the lspci of the same laptop but with a broadcom wifi chipset (bcm4311) which in turn may or may not be supported by b43.

Please post its lspci at least AND the debian branch you are on.

So you are on intel 3945, which means its either iwlagn or iwl3945 for it. Plus the package firmware-iwlwifi for the not included firmware.

In order to check if you are really on iwl3945 or iwlagn, look in lsmod. Or under the card's stuff in lspci -k.
If it does work, you should also have a wireless interface (wlan0/1/whatever) in ifconfig. If in doubt, check /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules.

Wow, third lost post ... and after all people think I am a lazy lier ... whatever ...

I guess it is not a HW thing since I have the epected iwconfig output

root@nomados:~# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

wlan0 IEEE 802.11abg ESSIDff/any
Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=15 dBm
Retry long limit:7 RTS thrff Fragment thrff
Encryption keyff
Power Managementff

pan0 no wireless extensions.

About configuring, I have this respect files:
root@nomados:~# cat /etc/networks
default 0.0.0.0
loopback 127.0.0.0
link-local 169.254.0.0
root@nomados:~# cat /etc/network/interfaces
# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
# and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# The primary network interface
allow-hotplug eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

# I ADDED THESE LINES WONDERING TO GET THE AUTO-CONFIG FOR THE WIFI NETWORK
allow-hotplug wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp

But my network manage doesn't show any: http://snag.gy/wrJuC.jpg

OFFTOPIC:
Once we are here with this matter, please ... how could I set up correctly kismet?
