'gnome-volume-manager.desktop': Unable to start application

I've done an Upgrade from Lenny to Squeeze and I get these warning messages in syslog:

Apr 25 15:32:24 SZHlinux1 x-session-manager[1738]: WARNING: Could not launch application 'gnome-volume-manager.desktop': Unable to start application: Failed to execute child process "/usr/lib/gnome-volume-manager/gnome-volume-manager" (No such file or directory)
Apr 25 15:32:24 SZHlinux1 x-session-manager[1738]: WARNING: Could not launch application 'print-applet.desktop': Unable to start application: Failed to execute child process "system-config-printer-applet" (No such file or directory)
but gnome-volume-manager is not installed:

rc  gnome-volume-manager                2.22.1-1                          GNOME daemon to auto-mount and manage media devices
Maybe this is a reason, my Gnome Desktop from time to time is completely freezing.

I solved these problems.

I've disabled:

Volume Manager
Print Queue Applet

under System -> Preferences -> Sessions -> Startup Programs.

Seems you have pretty much disabled the printing notifications and the automounting of removable devices. Installing the volume manager and system-config-printer would have been better.

Depends on if you want automounting and use a printer on that machine.

Well yeah. But if you have gnome installed i assume you want these components - if gnome misses some of its components can be quirky.

I cannot install volume manager under squeeze.

According to:

http://packages.debian.org/stable/gn...volume-manager

gnome-volume-manager is available only for these Architecture:

kfreebsd-amd64
kfreebsd-i386


Perhaps other squeeze package like gnome-device-manager has these functions.
