Would DamnSmallXGL be possible?
I'm just curious: The Kororaa liveCD showing off XGL is impressive, but it misses two vital things: You can't carry it with you in your wallet, and a "toram" option isn't really feasible for a CD that size..
Would it be possible to create a DSL-based XGL liveCD, or is that just too much to fit on a credit-card sized CD? |
Well, I don't believe that you can use XGL with the window manager that Damn Small uses (I believe it is a modified Black box, but correct me if I am wrong) XGL needs a session manager, which black/openbox do not have. The XGL server is not all that large, but it needs the session manager - so I believe that it would fit, but you may have to remove the DSL WM in favor of XFCE4 or something equally small.

Oh, I don't doubt that you'd need to change a bunch of things & leave some others out.
I'm just wondering if XGL & the needed software is/can be small enough to fit on a DSL-style liveCD.. |
