WINE: libxv1 problems

im installing wine on my system, im running dsl from memory.

i have goten all dependencies of dependecies and on and on and on installed then i come to this one library and it wont install. heres what its saying
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
setting up libxv1 4.3.0.dfsg.1-6
fgrep: invalid option -- x
busybox v1.0-pre5 (2004.01.15-15:11+0000) multi-call binary

no help available.
/var/lib/dpkg/info/libxv1.postinst: line 562: /etc/ld.so.conf: Read-only file system
dpkg: error proccessing libxv1 (--install):
subprocess post-install script returned error exit status 1
errors were encountered while processing:
libxv1
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

now i gathered it tryed writing to that file begining at line 562, but its read only. so i tried chmod on it and it said read only also. i was root. i am slow and all but im lost. any help would be apreciated.

You might try the gnu-utils package from http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/dis...mnsmall/mydsl/ instead of using the included busybox if you're installing software in a liveCD session.

Good luck with this...Wine is a pain as it is on a standard harddrive-installed distro.
