Unhappy Unable to locate Zen microphoto (harddrive mode) from DSL

I have coonected my zen microphoto in hardrive mode to an old laptop (PII).

I loaded DSL with LiveCD.

When DSL is loaded the zen microphoto screen shows that it was connected (it says "Do not disconnect").

However, I dont know where to find it from DSL.

It is not named as hda2/3/4.

Is it named as something else?

Anyone knows the solution?

Please help me out here. Thanks a lot!

What you can do to find out what it is, boot all the way in to DSL, plug your device in, issue 'dmesg | tail' and see what turns up. There should be some messages about some usb device being connected and where it is located.

it shows up as /dev/sdX where X is a letter. Unfortunately, I _still_ can't copy music to mine as it only dumps the files into the hardrive "partition" of the player. Anyone have any luck?

Edit: I installed gnomad2 and the required libs. The software works fine as root, but normal users cannot access the device at all. There is a rule in /etc/udev/rules.d created by libmtb and it contains a rule for my device. It says: usb_claim_interface(): Operation not permitted. Strange...

Edit (again): Alright, I figured it out. You must run the hotplug script inside the gnomad installation directory. This will create a .usermap and script in /etc/hotplug/usb/ Unfortunately, gnomad doesn't know about the MicroPhoto. You must add the following line to /etc/hotplug/usb/nomad.usermap (or whatever usermap you choose):
Code:
 # Creative Zen MicroPhoto
 nomadjukebox 0x0003 0x041e 0x413c 0x0000 0x0000 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00000000
