Firsly, I must warn you that I've never tryed it.
1) make your USB stick bootable
fdisk /dev/sda
set boot flag on
write it
2) invoke: syslinux /dev/sda
3) mount somewhere ISO image
mount -o loop rescue.iso /mnt/something
4) copy all files to USB stick
5) cd to your USB stick mount point
6) cd boot/isolinux
cp boot.msg help.msg initrd.ide vmlinuz memtest isolinux.cfg ../../
7)cd ../../
mv isolinux.cfg syslinux.cfg
that's all.
