trouble with rdesktop connect

I am using the Live version of DSL 4.2.2 and having a lot of trouble connecting via RDP.

I've tried from the GUI. I hit Connect and the window goes away . . . and never comes back.

I've tried from the command line and it just goes to a new line and doesn't give me my prompt back. I have to hit Ctrl+C to type another command.

Any ideas why this is happening? I can successfully RDP to the servers I've been attempting from several Windows machines. Thanks.

Do you have a firewall blocking it? What is the command you are using? Have you checked your logs (syslog, messages)?

The first thing I'd check is a quick scan of the tcp port rdp listens on.

$ nc -z -w 4 insert.host.here 3389 || echo 'FAILED'

What's the output from that?

edit: And it would help if you answered the previous poster's questions. What command are you using exactly?
