This Is So Awesome!!!!
This is awesome! I've never heard of booting an OS from a CD before! They say you can boot from the hard drive if you want to, does anyone prefer that and y cuz im not sure if i should. And also does DSL support .deb files?

Quite a few distros can run just from a CD, floppy or flash drive. I find such methods useful for testing distros or for system recovery. I am sure distrowatch, has an extensive list of such distributions.

Still this is pretty cool...

I run DSL as a "poorman's" install. I copied the contents of the CD onto a partition and use my existing grub to boot it.
This runs in basically the same manner as a liveCD, except that it's a bit faster and the cdrom is free. DSL supports deb files, with the addition of a dsl-dpkg.dsl extension. I think you can automatically download and install it with the "enable apt" menu item. |
ok thnx
