Server on DSL
I have an old PC running DSL that I am going to use for a server. Anyone know a guide(s) to install a webserver, FTP, MySQL, and PHP?

whilst it's theoretically possible... php and mysql on a computer only good enough to run DSL??? that's surely an absolute non starter... there will be so many additional libraries and things required, that you might as well get a proper server OS on there and reign it back to save on resources.

I don't know of guides, but it claims that it has a webserver (monkey webserver), FTP (betaftpd), and SQL database (sqlite).
If you want more packages, you have to use either the MyDSL extensions or enable the apt-repositories (which may break the system). Depending on how old the machine is, you might be just as well running a Debian Sarge system... |

I am working with Tinysofa Classic on a PII-400 with 256 Ram and a 6GB HD. Tinysofa Classic is command line only OS which means you need to learn how to use the bash shell. Or you can download Webmin and work with the machine using Webmin in a browser. |

You may want to edit the config for the correct paths. Webalizer adds statistics. It's on http://83.92.35.50 |
