serial mouse isn't working right

I select xvesa, cancel the imps/2, and the mouse will move horizontally only, left and right, but not up and down. What do I need to do?

Select XServer, when prompted to select your mouse type select "No" to USB and "No" to the PS2 options and your serial mouse should be working fine...
