RPM packages


I'm trying to install Maya,which is a RPM file.Is there any way to install it on DSL?And I want to use .deb installs too,are they supported by DSL?

you could use alien to convert packages to other types

DSL uses DEB as its package management system, so yes, .deb is the preferred way to install software on dsl

before installing any .deb packages, you need to use DSL's menu options "enable GNU Tools" and "Install APT" (and optionally "Install Synaptic)
