Mount a USB drive while running from USB

I want to access data on a usb drive while running DSL from another usb drive as a windows process. I execute the dsl-base.bat file to launch DSL as a windows process. I can not figure out how to mount the other drive. When I try I get:
Code:
mount /dev/sdaX is not a valid block device
Where X is 0-4. Any thought how to mount the other USB to access that data?

Thanks,

Chris

It might be that your usb devices are listed under something other than sda. Does it list your usb devices when you type
Code:
lsusb
or
Code:
lsusb -v
? I've never used DSL before, so I don't know the specifics of it, but it sounds like you just need to figure out what name it's assigning your device to. (assuming it sees the drive in the first place)

This is just a hunch, but you might also have to have the drive unmounted in windows before linux will be able to take control of it.

It returns nothing. No error, no info.

Have you read this thread? http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum...fm/693006.html It's a little old, but it might help.

Does your drive show up if you type
Code:
use fdisk -l
? That should list all the storage devices connected to your computer.
