Kernel upgrade
 
Hi folks,

I have DSL 2.2b on pendrive which runs on kernel-2.4.26. Can I upgrade the kernel to kernel-2.6? Because some packages which I'm prepared to install work on kernel-2.6 and above.

DSL does not plan at this time to build with 2.6 since it is significantly larger than 2.4 and therefore would cramp the rest of the system. So if you want 2.6 on your usb drive you are going to have to go with some other distro.

Tks for your advice and URL.

Gentoo uses syslinux bootloader. I'm looking for a Distro using Grub bootloader. DSL 2.2b after being installed on HD uses Grub bootloader.

Any suggestion? TIA
