I think the most popular mp3 players for Linux today are rhythmbox(GTK/Gnome) and amarok (QT/KDE):

http://www.gnome.org/projects/rhythmbox/

http://amarok.kde.org/

There're screenshots available for both of them on their respective pages. Take a look and check if that's what you were looking for ^_^

Regards!

Cool . It won't matter if you are not using Gnome or KDE. Just as long as you have the QT and/or GTK libraries installed, you should be able to run any application. Chances are: you already have them installed ^_^.

If you have problems installing, please update your profile and tell us which distribution you are using. I ask this because depending of your distribution, you could install either of those applications with one command (eg. In Debian, it should be apt-get install amarok).

EDIT: silly of me to ask your distribution. I can now see this question is on DSL forum . I believe DSL is build on Debian, so it should most likely be just a matter of apt-get <program name> amarok or rhythmbox I believe. Side note: Never used DSL myself

Thanks for your response.

I tried apt-get amarok and the same for rhythmbox but i get

"E: Invalid operation amarok"

and the same for rythmbox. I'm sure its just me being nooby at linux, but any help would be greatly appriciated.

also tried apt-get install amarok and it couldn't find it
