Is there a modern variant of dsl still around?

Wondering if there is a version of dsl still floating around out there that is fairly up to date?

If not, why does this forum exist? DSL is dead isn't it?

There hasn't been an update to DSL in quite awhile, but I can't say that surprises me much. DSL is not designed as a daily-use distribution, it is designed to be as small and fast as possible.

By a more "modern" version of DSL, I am assuming you mean something easier to use and flashier, which is only going against the idea of being lightweight; and certainly won't fit in ~50MB.

Puppy seems to be the smallest one that tries to stay up to date and I think they have gone over the 50 meg. I saw one on distrowatch the other day that said was 10 meg with a web browser but did not have time to check it out.

Tiny Core Linux is a worthy successor to DSL:

While they are not direct descendants of DSL, Puppy and SliTaz both have their charms.

I think OP means "support more equipment and work with newer kernel" as "up to date" in his question.
In these terms, DSL is no longer supported. I think developer has given the idea up.

Larry, did you mean 100Mb for Puppy?

I have not had time to check on it but I thought I had read something around 65 or 85 meg and that may have been 1 or 2 releases ago. If I get time this afternoon I will check on it.

ISO file which I keep on my drive is Lupu 5.1.1, and it is 130M.
