Installing DSL in a USB Flash Drive

Is it possible to install it in a flash drive? I thought of this but never tried it. It would be nice though.

So anyone has done it successfully? If so any difference in performance?

Thanks your your help!

Well, if the system it is used on has the ability to boot up ftom USB drives, i dont see why not.

I havent tried it though, so dont take my word for it.

Linux Format magazine included DSL on their NOV cover DVD and they included a "boot iso" for floppy's to do what you want.I haven't tried DSL on a USB drive yet but will soon.I have written DSL to a mini CD-R and also used RAWRITE to create a boot disk to use on machines that wont boot from a CD.

You sure can :) I haven't done it myself since I cannot get X to work but check out their site and forums, I believe they had instructions to do it somewhere...

I installed DSL to a Lexar JumpDrive 256MB and booted from the floppy that contained the usb iso.I went to the DSL site and read that you could put the usb iso image that is on the boot floppy on the usb drive and be able to boot from just the usb drive alone.I guess that is all contingent upon whether your computer can boot from usb?
I haven't noticed any performance changes between using different media as I have just started to use and feel my way around it.
