installing applications and drivers (mainly iwl4965)

ok so i have ubuntu running on my system but it boots up kinda slow..
so i want to install dsl and dual boot, so whenever i just need the internet i boot up dsl lightning fast.

Damn small doesn't detect my wireless crad (intel 4965 AG) and i'm on a wireless network. How can i install a iwl4965 driver?

what about installing other programs that i may want? does dsl have a package manager?

how do i install iwl4965 driver?!
