DSL on old machine with no network access

Hi I've installed DSL onto an old p 266, 128 RAM, serial mouse, but no internet access. It has serial modem access, but I am on broadband and using a switch, and that pc has no ethernet card. No USB ports.

How can I copy software to it - I thought using CD? In particular I'd like to put Abiword on it and have downloaded the autopackage which looks like a long script, but don't know where to from there.

Many thanks

If you have dsl and if you have still a pci slot free a easy way is put a ethernet card in the slot configure and it and you have full access to the dsl connection.
Auto package can mean a lot of thinks I have down load a package with the same name and when I run it makes connection to the internet to install a prgram I like to have. But maybe in the auto package is also the program you want.

all the best

Thanks - yes I did think of that but wondered about cost - however I posted to local LUG and someone has a card for me. Now just hope I can learn how to install it :-) It's all good fun and learning though. Thanks
