Angry knoppix std cable net connection

i am new to linux and am having problems connecting to the internet. i use a cable connection and have no idea how to setup please help!!!!!

first edit ur resolv.conf
using vi or emacs
here commands is like vi resolv.conf
fisrt u should login root
then put ur
primary Dns
and also secondary dns :
it's over
if u cannotget it

one method is type ur login
session setup
then u can see the linux networking
select it type ur ip , dns , also gateway
after doing it quite from prompt
type like these /etc/init.d/./network restart
also /etc/init.d/./named restart
i hope u get the connection ...
