On behalf of myself and Id like to wish each and every member a very Happy New Year. It brings me joy to say that 2010 was another great year for LQ and that 2011 will bring some exciting improvements to the site. We know there's always room for improvement, however, and we're interested in ways you think we can make LQ better. From major changes to minor tweaks, let us know what you think. We thrive on user feedback and many of the changes we've made in the past are a direct result of member feedback. Visit to let us know what you think. We'll be randomly selecting 5 posts from that thread and upgrading those members account to "Contributing Member" status for all of 2011.

As has become a New Year's tradition, I've posted some Browser and Operating System statistics for LQ for the the previous year. Visit to view the 2010 stats.

Everybody who wants to make life easier on themselves, power users and sysadmins alike, can benefit from reading this practical course. The guide contains lots of examples and exercises at the end of each chapter, demonstrating the theory and helping you practice.
