I'd like to wish each and every LQ member a Happy New Year. 2006 has been an exciting year for us, and we plan to make 2007 even better. Along with the end of the year comes the 2006 LinuxQuestions.org Members Choice Awards. That's right, the polls are now officially open. The Members Choice Awards allow you to select your favorite applications in 21 categories this year. Make sure your voice is heard, head over to http://www.linuxquestions.org/awards and place your vote.

I'm proud to announce that we have added a new section to LinuxQuestions.org. LQ Screenshots offers a visual overview for a large number of Linux distributions. This allows you to get a basic feel for a distro before trying it out. The site is fully functional, but the look does need to be updated to bring it in line with the rest of the LQ network. As always, we're looking for your feedback. Visit http://shots.linuxquestions.org/ to see the new LQ Screenshots site and http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=514699 to view the announcement.

Do you listen to the LinuxQuestions.org Podcast? If not, the last Podcast of the year was recently posted, so this is a great time to check it out. Tune into http://radio.linuxquestions.org/ to listen. You can automatically download the latest podcasts by adding the RSS Feed ( http://radio.linuxquestions.org/syndicate/lq.php ) to your favorite podcatcher. A reminder that you can help spread the word and promote the LQ Podcast by voting for it at Digg ( http://digg.com/podcasts/LQ_Podcast ) and Podcast Alley ( http://podcastalley.com/podcast_details.php?pod_id=777 ). If you have any suggestions on how the podcast can be improved, please let us know on the LQ Radio site.
