Question "Writing Superblocks" taking a really long time...

I'm installing CL for the first time, and the install is taking a long time at the step that says:
"Writing superblocks and filesystem accounting information"

It's been over an hour, but the HDD activity light was still flashing, so I did a system reset and started over again. I get to the same point and it behaves the same way.

The system is a PII 400 with a 4Gb drive and GF4 video. (Basically a bunch of old parts I had laying around.) I made two partitions on the drive. One Linux swap and one Linux.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong here or what. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Dan.

Thanks, that was the problem. I ran the Western Digital diagnostic program and it failed. The recommended solution was "discard the drive". lol!

Thanks,

Dan
