Problems installing the bootloader

I'm attempting to dualboot College Linux 2.5 with Windows XP. I've never had a problem with bootloaders before, but for some reason after installing CL it doesn't want to work. Instead of bringing up a menu when I turn the machine on, it just boots straight to windows.

Could someone please help me on how can I fix this?

Which bootloader are you using?

(Silly question, but) Are you sure you commited the changes you made to the bootloader file? For example, with Lilo, you might have to run "/sbin/lilo" to commit the changes.

I had a problem with XP always wanting to boot up first, but after I reran /sbin/lilo, it stoped being so dominating.

I'm trying to use Lilo as provided by the CL install. I go through the configuration for it after partitioning and prior to installing CL, but after installation and reboot it's as if it doesn't exist at all. It just loads XP, no questions asked.

If you installed CL after you configured the bootloader, I would recommend running:

#lilo

to see if it makes any difference.

I've got it all correct now. I was making the mistake of giving WinXP the label "Windows XP" and lilo wasn't cool with that. Thanks for you time =)
