College Linux...

This OS is the shight for any N00B needing stuff they want.
it has a video player, wine, and freaking open office built in, KDE 3.1.1 and did i mention its only 640MB?

i had Red Hat 9, but it is lame, too bland, too yuck, and way too big.

i think im going to be very happy with college Linux.

For anyone who doesnt know what im talking about click here

Looks good - other distros also have office, etc.

What's CollegeLinux based on?

It gave me hell trying to set up my second NIC so I deleted it, no other distro seemed to do that to me.

Yep, it's based on Slackware.

I tried their "Jedi" edition. It was OK, if not a little buggy, but I understand why it would be great for a first timer using Linux.

Shortly thereafter though, I installed Slack 8.something and haven't looked back.

random post from my bros college blog:
Here's a story about Microsoft's latest earnings release. Mixed news, but they are still being careful to point out the following:

"Linux is the most significant competitor to the Windows platform."

That's right you wretched scum. Linux cometh.

So far I see absolutely nothing wrong with this distro. I had a minor audio issue and need to fix my dvd-rom but what is the fun when everything goes 100% smooth? Maybe I am just happy with linux in general, last time I ran it, must have been at least 4 years ago... Regardless im inching my way closer and closer to being microsoft free... its like i fell in love... at least i wont be alone on thursday...

Please only post if its related to the topic of the thread. This has nothing to do with this thread or topic.

This site is not intended to bash Microsoft of Windows for that matter and if you feel the desire to do so, well we have plenty of Microsoft related threads in General.

Regards.
