Yum update doesnt work it seems. I cant post the whole "update" but i figured, from my research, hat this was the most important part. Any ideas whats wrong?

What are you exactly doing? And are you mixing repos? Take it as a general rule of thumb that if what you think you should do results in changes in the kernel, Python or Glibc you should indeed think if this is the right course of action because most of the time it won't be.
