PHP 5.6 on CentOS 6.8

Hi,
I am using CentOS 6.8 and PHP 5.3:

Quote:
# cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS release 6.8 (Final)

# php -v
PHP 5.3.3 (cli) (built: Aug 11 2016 20:33:53)
Copyright (c) 1997-2010 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2010 Zend Technologies
I am using those repo:

Quote:
base
extras
litespeed
litespeed-update
nginx
rpmforge
updates

Please note: I don't have any RPM from LiteSpeed repo. In the past I added its repo to do some test, but I am still using nginx as reverse proxy in front of Apache.

What is the "cleanest" way to switch to PHP 5.6?

Thank you

I've had a lot of luck with REMI repositories for PHP in the past.

I tried several solutions, and I confirm that the one with REMI repository

worked like a charm.
Thank you!
