Only text mode after install

I installed CentOS on a flash drive but when I boot off of it I only get text mode. Is this the default? or did I mess up? I says it works under secure boot and uefi which is how I have the computer setup.
Is there another step(s) to do? I have no instructions? Any clues towards install if it has a gui?

Depends on how CentOS was installed. What version and what ISO did you use i.e. netinstall, minimal, DVD etc. Neither the netinstall or the minimal ISOs will automatically install a desktop. Otherwise it would depend on the computers graphics adapter.

You can always use the Redhat documentation.

Noone has any ideas why there is no gui, hmmm. Will check /var before settling in for the winter to read RH docs.
This Live CD was downloaded from CentOS 3-4 months ago so it is probably not worth any further effort. Thanks
