Install centos 7 on to usb stick with on a machine with only one USB port

Hi

I'd like to install centos 7 on to a USB stick.

I have done this before by having the installation iso on one usb stick and selecting the installation media to be a second usb stick.

However the machine I have has only one usb port.
Does anyone know if it is possible to do this with only one usb port available ? Maybe by somehow telling it use to use an installation iso on the hard drive ?

Note: I have a system already on the hard drive which I do not want affected by the install to USB.

Failing that, if I got hold of another machine with 2 USB ports and used that to install centos 7 on to a USB stick - could I then use that USB to boot up from another machine, or would the hardware/boot firmware etc. have to be identical? (The machine I wish to boot from uses libreboot)

You can install virtual box; where you can specify boot from ISO file and your destination as your USB.

OR

If installing virtual box is not an option, get a USB hub, they are fairly inexpensive these days.

Hi there
Another solution is to create a second partition on the USB. Now at install time -->select destination drive you should be able to select the second partition.

The easiest way by far though is if you have a USB hub -- they are really cheap these days -- get on amazon for a few EUR.

Cheers
