Help needed setting up local repository

I need to create a local repository with all of the latest updates for Centos 6.6 after a fresh install and then apply them in a controlled environment.

I know that I need to use Createrepo to create the local repository, but I don’t know how to capture all of the rpm’s that are pulled down from an “yum update”. I read that yumdownloader will allow me to download specific rpm’s and not install them, but I don’t see an option to download “all” rpm’s and their associated dependencies for my system after a fresh install.

In summary, I’m looking to install a system from scratch with Centos 6.6, download all the latest packages, add them to a local repository and then apply them locally.

Any ideas?

yum list installed gives you all the installed packages. Is that what you need?
Why 6.6 by the way if 6.7 is the current supported version?

No, that is not what I'm looking for. Yum list installed gives me everything that is currently installed after completing my installation. I need to know what packages would be installed if I ran "yum update" after the installation so that I can capture those and add them into my local repository. Further, I would rather not have to manually download every single updated RPM as this would take some time.

yum check-update should do the trick.

Actually 'yum update' won't install anything unless you tell it to, either manually or by passing the '-y' flag.

Anyway, after getting the list, you'll probably want to look at http://linux.die.net/man/1/yumdownloader & possibly http://linux.die.net/man/1/yum-utils.

You may even want to look at Spacewalk/Satellite if this is for many systems or to be repeated often.

I was able to get this working by using rsync to pull down all updates from a selected CentOS mirror.

Here's the link I followed https://www.centos.org/forums/viewto...p?f=13&t=55219
