FTP error -ftp://192.168.122.176/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errrno 14] FTP error 550 -


Im using cent0s7 and trying to set up a repo with ftp. I keep getting the below error on both machines when I yum repolist. I can ping both and can access the ftp site via a browser and see all my files.

ftp://192.168.122.176/repodata/repomd.xml: [error14] ftp error 550 -server denied you to change to the given directory. Below is my yum.repos files for both.

server2
[ftprepo]
baseurl=ftp://192.168.122.176
enable=0
gpgcheck=0

server1
[ftprepo]
baseurl=ftp://192.168.122.176
enable=0
gpgcheck=0

any help or suggestions would be great, thanks

I'd say some misconfiguration on the ftp server that makes the repodata directory inaccessible for you. Permissions, perhaps.

I don't think it is a permissions thing because at one point I changed all of the file permissions to 777 to test it out, but ended up with the same error. It may be something with the yum permissions (some how) because I can access the ftp site via a web browser and see all my files. When I try yum repolist is where that error comes in.

You should see something in the ftp server log, or switch on debugging to see something.
