DNS ERROR - none of the MX records resolve to this host

I´m trying to install Zimbra on CentOS 7. The server is into a Azure Cloud Portal.
Azure assignes the DNS of the server. But that domain can´t be record in A and MX. So I have another domain that is recorded in A and MX. I´m using that domain like DNS in my server.

Trying install Zimbra I get this error:

[root@boosterd ~]# /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmsetup.pl
Operations logged to /tmp/zmsetup.20170613-104152.log
Installing LDAP configuration database...done.
Setting defaults...

DNS ERROR resolving MX for boosterd.hectorsauza.com
It is suggested that the domain name have an MX record configured in DNS
Change domain name? [Yes]

Interface: 127.0.0.1
Interface: ::1
Interface: 10.2.0.4

DNS ERROR - none of the MX records for hectorsauza.com
resolve to this host
It is suggested that the MX record resolve to this host

IP 157.55.171.172 is public
IP 10.2.0.4 is private

Hope you can help me, please!

Hi and welcome to LQ,

If you want to run a mailserver that is the MX RR of a domain, then you need a public IP. And of course that IP should resolve back to your Centos server.

Maybe you can overcome this problem temporarily, by using in /etc/hosts
Code:
10.2.0.4 boosterd4431.cloudapp.net
Regards

I was afraid of this, that's why I used maybe in my response.
A mailserver (like zimbra) uses dns to resolve hostnames/ips, so the /etc/hosts trick most likely won't fool the installer.

If you can't connect your server directly to the net and directly assign it the public ip (157.55.171.172), you may try the split dns solution, assuming of course that you can configure the nameserver authoritative for your domain.

Regards
