CentOS 6.4 Install on asus eeePC 900

Like to install 6.4 on a asus notebook eeePC 900 that has a 3.9 gig of solid state drive. The install program tells me that there is not enough space to install a default LVM system.

I'd like to know the best way to proceed for a clean install. Any suggestions would be welcome. Perhaps there is a version that will install on space less than 3.9 gigs.

I believe the minimum requirements are 1GB for the command line and 5GB for a GUI. A net install disk might work then once the system is running you can install a GUI, I might suggest xfce which would run faster then Gnome.

WHY !!! do you need to install a old and UNSUPPORTED version of CentOS ??????

CentOS 6.4 is UNSUPPORTED
CentOS 6.5 is UNSUPPORTED
CentOS 6.6 is UNSUPPORTED

the current is CentOS 6.7 in the older 6 series , with CentOS 7.1 as the current version

3.9 gig is WAY TOO SMALL

i take it you did not read the system requirements

3.9 is SMALLER that the 4.3 gig install dvd

normally 6 to 9 gig is the BARE MINIMUM of drive space

A 3.0 GB partition allows you to install a minimal installation, while a 5.0 GB root partition lets you perform a full installation, choosing all package groups.

centos6.7 on asus eeepc 900

Thanks for the suggestions. A minimal install runs slow as expected but otherwise performs fine. There does not appear to be enough space for xfce but I am satisfied as the OS now stands for simple access to my pfSense router.
