that file is deprecated and not used any longer

now
if you manually make one it WILL be used over the default

if you have a nvidia card and WERE using the nvidia driver ( not nouveau)
then run "nvidia-xconfig" to make a xorg.conf file

VGA Card Details:
[root@XXX ~]# lspci | grep VGA
08:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Electronics Systems Ltd. MGA G200e [Pilot] ServerEngines (SEP1) (rev 05)

I was generated a xorg.conf file with cmd -> # Xorg :1 -configure
system startup with init 3
# X -config /home/xxx/xorg.conf/new

but, nothing change, same problem.

This is the page I used when installing Centos6 as it didn't auto-recognise my video hw https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xrandr, as documented here https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...a2-4175424942/
