Stuck at CLI
Alright. Caos sounds like a wicked distro.
Really easy to install. Props.
The only thing is now, how do I get to the desktop?
I'm logged in as root and stuck at the command line.
I've tried commands like, "startx" or "gui" or "flux" or "fluxbox"
Basically I'm out of things to try. So how do I get to the desktop?
I tried looking for support on the Caos website, but i'm not going to bother with IRC.
You guys know what you're talking about, so i'm posting here to see if anyone has any experience with this.
Regards.

I can answer only conceptually. To start X-Windows, a window manager or desktop manager needs to be specified. In Arch, for example, I put this in ~/.xinitrc
What GUI comes with CAOS? eg KDE, Gnome, XFCE

Ps
Quick check on Distrowatch tells me that CAOS may not be actively maintained. Also, on CAOS site, the link to the wiki is broken.
They seem to say that CAOS--like CentOS--is a Redhat derivative. I for one cannot immediately see any benefit over other more mainstream distros.
It DOES seem to come with GUIs--therefore, your issue MIGHT involve simply changing the default runlevel. For starters--in the CLI, type "init 5" and see what happens.

Alright. I changed the run level to 5 by going init 5.
What now?

If init 5 did not start the GUI, then we need to dig deeper. First, do some searches to see what desktop systems are installed:
find /usr -name "gnome*"
find /usr -name "kde*"
find /usr -name "xfce*"
also look for kdm or gdm
