Problem with updates

I tweaked the settings for up2date and this is the result of this

i updated 21 packages for Cent OS 4....
but the tweaking i did was i changed the updates folder from

/var/spool to /home/amit/my documents/my softwares/up2date

the updates went fine without any problem

Now i don't know why it is showing me that i need to update my Gaim....

I already have the updated version.....(it is only showin me Gaim...nothing else)...

Moreover, i cannot update anymore......whenever i click on the red circle with exlamation mark for updating, it gives me an error.....

/var/spool/up2date is not accessible........

Why is this?
What is wrong?

Duff, you tried dropping a soft link of up2date -

ln -s "/home/amit/my documents/my softwares/up2date" /var/spool/up2date

or make sure that the settings weren't changed when you ran up2date last time.
