Caos Linux versions

Distrowatch lists 'CaosLinux 2' as having kernel 2.6.11.6. No mention there of Caos Linux 2.1a, nor has Google search turned up anything other than download link. I need to know does Caos Linux 2.1a have the same kernel? Also, any major differences from the Caos Linux 2 of Distrowatch? Thanks.

Hi,

since it appears that Caos Linux is dormant, and version 2 is 8 years old I wonder why you want this information. If you could tell us, we might be able help with the underlying problem.

I bought Caos Linux 2 (32bit) from a defunct source, and I now want to get Caos Linux 2 (64bit), but the closet I could find to a download link is for Caos Linux 2.1a. I "want this information" so I know whether or not this Caos Linux 2.1a will meet my needs.

Hi,

I don't think it would suit the needs of anyone, unless they want to run old unsupported software with unpactched security vulnerabilities.

Cheers,

Firstly, its quite interesting to me that this forum has a subforum dedicated to Caos Linux, yet is sole raison d'etre seems to be to stop anyone from downloading it. In any case, I found the download site for 64-bit version at:

http://www2.cddc.vt.edu/pub/linux/di...Aos-2/install/

...should anyone ever be interested, and someone on another forum has shown me this 2.2.1a edition does indeed use kernel 2.6.29. So its been downloaded for trial, and my question has been answered.
